HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY HAS ARRIVED!
We are pleased to be able to offer the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to our patients.
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy? HBOT exposes the entire body to increased concentrations of oxygen at greater than normal atmospheric pressure. This increases the concentration of oxygen dissolved in the blood which improves perfusion and oxygenation of tissues throughout the body. The collagen matrix is stimulated to form new blood vessels, enhancing healing and circulation.Inflammation, which plays a major role in most disorders, is reduced.Elevated oxygen treats infections both mild and quite serious through its bactericidal properties.
Some of the many conditions which may be successfully treated with HBOT in our office are:
·Wounds (surgical or traumatic), cosmetic surgery (less swelling, bruising, quicker healing), injuries (strains, sprains, fractures heal in a fraction of the time).
·Some neurological conditions which may improve are: Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, stroke, migraine headaches, Alzheimer’s, RSD, post-concussion traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, and autism spectrum disorders.
·Some inflammatory conditions which respond to HBOT include: rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, fibromyalgia, lupus, colitis and Crohn’s disease.
·Other conditions which may be treated are: infections such as Lyme disease, Candida and fungal infections, diabetes (infections, non-healing wounds and ulcers, neuropathy) and macular degeneration.
Generally, for maximum effectiveness, patients must undergo 30-40 treatments two times per day for 15-20 days.
HBOT is an elective therapy that is not covered by medical insurance.
If you have any questions about receiving HBOT, its potential benefits to you or the costs involved, please feel free to contact us by telephone or email.
